Cyber Awareness Workshop

  • BG Futures Longdale Road Lincoln LN1 3DY (map)

Protect yourself and your business from cyber crime by attending this workshop which will provide a non-technical overview of what you can do right now. It’s important to recognise that, statistically, cyber crime and fraud now pose a greater risk than physical crime. All businesses, from sole-traders right up to multi-nationals, need to plan for when, not if, a cyber incident occurs.

This workshop will give you an overview on Cyber Awareness from Lincolnshire Police Cyber Crime Unit. The session will include a scenario based exercise to help you better understand how you can prepare for a cyber incident. It will include information about how criminals target us and examples of how organisations have been targeted in Lincolnshire.

There will be a focus on the following topic areas

  • Social engineering

  • Phishing

  • Protecting your data & personal information

  • Risks of free or public Wi-Fi

  • Current threats

  • Intro to National Cyber Security Centre resources for SMEs

  • Benefits of CiSP and Cyber Essentials

Presenters - PC Luke Casey and Harry Lancaster, Cyber Protect Officers, Lincolnshire Police Cyber Crime Unit.
