"Mom was wrong about games" - Gamified learning in IT with Sabastian Hague

  • Mosaic Silver Street Lincoln, England, LN2 1DY United Kingdom (map)

Sabastian Hague has worked within the information security field for over 8 years, working for the likes of the Royal Air Force, Vodafone Group, Trustwave SpiderLabs & now HackTheBox. Having previously built multiple renowned industry recognized blue team exams & course authored an advanced blue team certificate, he has an undying passion for gamified and practical learning.

You’ve played a Capture The Flag (CTF) security competition and managed to get every flag available, but now what? How exactly can you translate the skills learnt into your day to day? Surely a CTF can’t result in the faster resolution of a cyber security incident?

Sabastian Hague (sebh24), the Defensive Content Lead at HackTheBox, is going to offer a birds eye view of how the incidents occurred, the analysis logic used and how CTFs have helped him solve real world problems, ultimately resulting in the timely return of services and more importantly… the return of revenue.

As usual, it's going to be an informal event, with food, refreshments (and swag) provided and there will be plenty of time for friendly conversation with like minded people with an interest in all things digital. This event will take place at Lincoln's Digital Hub, Mosaic so we hope you can join us. Car parking is available on Free School Lane or 2 minutes walk away at Broadgate multi-story car park. Hope you can make it!
