Lincoln startup to showcase latest products at London Tech Week

Lincoln-based tech startup Tended will join 11 other UK startups in demoing its product at London Tech Week later this month.

Tended will be one of 12 startups in the UK which have been invited by WIRED to demo its products at the closing show for London Tech Week.

Taking place from June 10-15, London Tech Week connects international communities from across the spectrum to address how access to tech for all can have a profoundly positive impact in society and business.

As part of the closing show – WIRED Pulse: AI at the Barbican, Tended will be demoing its first product, the Tended Protect, to big names in the tech industry.

Tended Protect is a wrist-worn wearable safety device which monitors the movements of the user through artificial intelligence and has the ability to learn and detect ‘abnormalities’, such as a fall or strong impact.

If the user does not or cannot respond to the device’s safety check, then an alert will be sent to the user’s nominated emergency contact with GPS location, health and activity information and will open the channel for live audio with the wearer.

Leo Scott Smith, founder of Tended told CityX: “It’s great to have been invited to demo our products at WIRED’s upcoming AI event.

“As WIRED is probably the most recognised technology publication in the world, it will be great for publicity.

“It’s also really positive to be recognised for what we’re developing and is a testament to the advanced work we’re currently doing with AI and IoT.

“We will be at WIRED Pulse: AI at the Barbican on Saturday, June 15.
